The day turned out to be perfect for observing and photographing the solar eclipse. The weather was a warm but not too hot 33 degrees with a light breeze. No cloud!
The location I chose was a lake nearby where I live, in the hills of Perth, Western Australia. Being the Australia Day public holiday the lake was a hive of activity with swimmers, canoe's, etc. We generated a little interest from nearby people when we set up our telescopes to take photographs of the eclipse.
I took an exposure every 5 minutes, resulting in a nice sequence of images from start to end of the eclipse. All images are taken with my Megrez 80 SD (original) and Canon 350D. The solar filter used was Baader solar film.
You can buy prints of the solar eclipse sequence by requesting them from me. I only intend have prints made to order as I expect demand to be small for this localised event. Prints will take about 1 week to be sent. Prints will be in two sizes: 80cm wide and 50cm wide. Click here to request details to buy
