Photography of birds is tricky at the best of times, I have found. They are usually hopping all over the place (if they are on the ground!) or flying erratically, or doing just about anything else including just simply turning their head the other way! .. to get out of having their photo taken. It can be infuriating!
Occasionally a situation presents its self where a good image can be captured of a feathered subject. This is usually when time permits for me the photographer to relax, sit patiently, enjoy the surroundings, and wait for the right opportunity.
For my bird photography I mostly use my Canon 70-200 F/4L lens, often with my 2x Tamron adaptor. I also sometimes use my partner's Canon 100-400 F/4-5.6L, of course only when she is not using it! Both lenses more often than not yield excellent images. The F/2.8 varieties would be nice but we are not in to carrying that kind of weight around.
I hope you enjoy this small collection of bird photography I have shown here on my website.
