While the public were looking through my telescope on the night, I had my camera piggybacked taking images. I wanted to do this to demonstrate what I do with astrophotography, as for me visual viewing is not what I'm in the game for.
It was fun to be able to show the public the camera, hooked up to the laptop, and with the actual images coming down right before their eyes, showing the great colour and detail easily achievable.
All images where 1 minute exposures at 1600ISO. Of course several were scrubbed because people would knock the telescope or whatever, but that was to be expected.
I haven't done any significant processing on this image. It's more a raw than a processed image. It wasn't the processing that was the point, it was what you can just snap without too much effort.
I didn't accurately polar align and didn't have any sort of guiding operating. Simply the Losmandy GM8 tracking at Sidereal.
