Comet Lulin C/2007

This is my image of the relatively bright comet C/2007 Lulin.

I wanted to get at least one shot of this bright comet, and so this is it. It hasn't been well positioned for photographing from my observatory, and every trip to the country I've had planned to photograph it has been rained out!

This was taken with my canon camera piggybacked on my LX200. It's quite rare I piggyback the camera on the LX these days, but it's something I should probably do more often as it's very easy to take a photograph this way, as the LX200 is so good at just tracking accuraely and handling the load of the camera.

This is the first image I've taken using Nebulosity2, some new software I'm using to replace DSLRFocus. I'm quite happy with the process, it's much easier to use than DSLRFocus, the only down side is it saving images as 3 FITS files and then the associated extra processing that brings.
