The March 2008 Astro Camp started out a little doubtful with plenty of cloud and some rain about on the Friday. Throughout Friday evening the cloud cleared leaving several hours of clear night time viewing. At about 12:15 the cloud came over again as an almost comlete blanket and most people packed up for the night.
Saturday was fine, partly cloudy, and moderate temperatures, making for quite a hospitable day (it can sometimes be too hot at the March astro camps).
Saturday night was clear throughout with only a slight bit of breeze now and then. Very nice viewing conditions although the atmospheric stabilty was not great.
My gear worked reasonably well on both nights with the new Q Guider paying off, allowing easy guide star acquisition, and a good polar alignment helping the autoguiding process. I was using Canon's In Camera Noise Reduction, which I don't usually do, and so the number of objects imaged is relatively small. The ICNR's impact on the number of images taken, me forgetting to put the William Optics minus-v 2" filter on the 350D, and one strange guiding problem while photographing The Emu were the annoyances of the camp for me.
