Watsons Way - November 2007

This gallery contains information and photo's from the ASWA SDSO trip to Watsons Way B&B in November of 2007.

On the 10th November 2007 a group of 6 ASWA members travelled to Watsons Way B&B (north-east of Mukinbudin in Western Australia) for 3 nights of dark sky astronomy.

The trip was a great success with dark skies, clear skies on 2 out of 3 nights, good company, and great food, accom and service provided by the B&B.

Comet Holmes was the astronomical highlight for the weekend.

There is no light pollution visible from Watsons Way - the horizons are black. The horizon height from our viewing area was very good, with a few trees - more to the south. The number of trees is good in my opinnion - some are needed for shade as it gets hot during the day, it would be awful without any there. The horizons are easily good enough for any astronomical objects that rise greater than 5 degrees above any of the horizons.
