Painted Button-quail

This is a photo of the Painted Button-quail in Dryandra, Western Australia.

Taken through the windscreen of the car this is not a particularly good photograph, but the best achieved. They are not the hardest bird to photograph, but I was on the wrong side of them for lighting.

Ground dwelling birds they make only short flight, which they unfortunately did to get away from me.

Given more time, they would be a relatively easy photographic target, so hopefully I will com
