M45 (Pleiades cluster)

The Pleiades star cluster (also known as the Seven Sisters) with some blue nebulosity showing.

I'm quite happy with the amount of nebulosity acquired in this image considering my Canon camera is not modified to allow more suitable wavelengths of light to be captured. This is certainly the best M45 image to date, most of my previous attempts being with film several years ago.

I didn't bother with more exposures of this object at this time because (1) a meridian flip was require

I didn't bother with more exposures of this object at this time because (1) a meridian flip was required to continue imaging it, (2) in a few weeks time I will have another chance to photograph it, from a more suitable dark sky location (no northern light pollution).
