Lightning 3: This image is very similar to the next, Lightning 4 except it is a shorter exposure and has a small set of bolts in the centre of the closest 'strike'.

The shorter exposure time means that the stars are more circular, as the camera was on a fixed tripod, not tracking equatorially.

Visible in the image also is Sirius, the bright star to the centre-right, and Orion's Sword (also known as the handle of the saucepan).

Orion's Sword is the 3 smallish stars in a diagonal row at the centre of the image. Visible within those stars, surrounding the centre one is a pink/red area. This is the Great Orion Nebula, M42. This nebula is a well known bright astronomical target.
