Jupiter

This gallery contains various photographs of Jupiter taken over the years, most utilising webcam imaging.
Jupiter 200705_Jupiter28th2
A second image from the 28th May 2007 of the planet Jupiter. This image shows a little more sharpness than the first, and looks like it has more potential if I had the processing patients/skill.

Taken at F/10 on my SCT and from a total video length of about 1600 frames.
Jupiter 200705_Jupiter28th1
A quick snap of Jupiter taken at F/10 on my scope. Cloud rolled in soon after the video was recorded for this image, so that was all for the night.

The processing was pretty basic and limited, just a quick stack in RegiStax on full auto mode. A little sharpenning in the wavelet filter, followed by a slight tweak of the levels in PhotoShop.
Jupiter (3 views)
3 views of Jupiter from three different processing and attempts using the Olympus hand held to the eyepiece. Each image is a single non-stacked image.
Jupiter (QuickCam)
Jupiter taken with my Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000. This is a stacked image, combined in Registax and enhanced using Registax wavelet filter and PhotoShop.
Jupiter with moons
Jupiter with some of it's moons.
Jupiter Occultation 2005, 1
The first of 4 showing the progress. Conditions were very poor with cloud covering most of the event. 1 out of every 2000 frames was good enough to use.
Jupiter Occultation 2005, 2
The second of 4 showing the progress. Conditions were very poor with cloud covering most of the event. 1 out of every 2000 frames was good enough to use.
Jupiter Occultation 2005, 3
The third of 4 showing the progress. Conditions were very poor with cloud covering most of the event. 1 out of every 2000 frames was good enough to use.
Jupiter Occultation 2005, 4
The third of 4 showing the progress. Conditions were very poor with cloud covering most of the event. 1 out of every 2000 frames was good enough to use.
Jupiter Occultation 2005, Conditions
The conditions on the night of the Occultation of Jupiter by The Moon were so bad I felt they warranted a photograph. From this you can hopefully understand why I only used about 5 frames out of every 2000 captured using the webcam, and why the resulting images are such poor quality
Jupiter and Beehive
Jupiter and the Beehive cluster of stars. In March 2004 Jupiter passed very close to the Beehive cluster, presenting quite a nice photo opportunity. You can see Jupiter and some of it's moons in this shot with M44.
The Milky Way rising with Jupiter
This photograph shows the Milky Way rising, and Jupiter just below it also rising.
Jupiter and Pleiades
Jupiter and Pleiades framed by trees.
