Hubble Deep Field South

Click image above to view full size
The Hubble Deep Field South, as taken by an amateur astronomer. This image comprises of relatively long 20 minute and 40 minute exposures. Taken from a suburban back yard with a medium level of light pollution.

Many objects are clearly visible within the FOV, with my estimate being a total of 30 non-stellar objects distinguishable from background noise. About 15 of these being easily distinguishable.

This was a relatively long running project, taking July, August and September

This was a relatively long running project, taking July, August and September of 2006 to achieve this image (winter months for Perth, Western Australia) - many nights rained out.
