Lightning in the Wheatbelt during storms

Click image above to view full size
Description:  A photograph showing multiple lightning strikes during the storms which rolled through the West Australian Wheatbelt region on January 4th 2012.

The exposure time of this image was 4 seconds. It is actually a compilation of two consecutive 2 second exposures. 5 lightning strikes in 4 seconds, not bad!

The area was very brightly lit, so a neutral density filter, graduated filter and polarising filter were used to darken it down enough for the 2 second exposure times.

Camera:Canon 7D
Lens:Canon 17-40 F/4 L
